Crane Controls Provide Several Key Benefits

This material handling crane's control system provides several important features The Vectura Automated Storage and Retrieval System is controlled by a server-based Crane Manager called "CraneBOX," which communicates with the Warehouse Management System (WMS). CraneBOX's user-friendly, full-color graphical interface, called the Box Control Interface (BCI), provides several important features:

Easy error handling
Ability to check the status of all aspects of the system
Controls on board the crane are reduced to a small PLC, which receives instructions via radio or infrared link

The use of TCPIP communication and the fact that CraneBOX is sever-based allows the entire subsystem to be commissioned independently of the WMS. In addition, remote diagnosis and intervention via modem saves the expense of engineering travelling and time and prolonged downtime.

While the control systems have been optimized for our products, it is possible to integrate 3rd party hardware. CraneBOX, for instance, has been implemented and is running another manufacturer's mini load cranes.
